Commingled
Products |
| |
| For duty purposes every product must be classified
using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule. If goods are commingled, in
which goods subject to different rates of duty are packed together,
it may result in all goods being assessed at the highest rate of duty
applicable to any of the item. Translation, you might pay higher duty
if products are commingled. Classify products separately, unless you
have no option. |

| What is Customs Liquidation? |
| |
| Liquidation is the final step of an entry. It
is the last determination from Customs as to the correctness of classification
and duty of the entry. Once Customs issues a “Notice of Liquidation”
posted on the bulletin board in the Customhouse at the port of entry
where the product entered, Customs will have no more interest on the
product. Entries are liquidated within 1 year after the goods enter.
Port director may extend the 1 year three times for reasons acceptable
by Customs. |
